Just a thought

While watching On Her Majesty's Secret Service tonight, the thought struck me:they should have killed off George Lazenby and let Diana Rigg take over as 007.

Tonight's Lost

WOW. Best Lost of the year, IMO. Terrific parallel story done very well with meshing of flashbacks and supposedly 'old' footage. All that, plus lots of storyholes were filled. Excellent epi.
Now , I'll head over to TWOP and read all the complaints.

My 1st Comic.....

This is the first comic I ever bought at the ripe old age of 7. Of course, I'd been reading them since I was 5.

My Must See Again Movies

Sorry I didn't post last night, but it didn't appear that that anyone has been reading these yet.
At least there aren't any comments. Just a TV show to add to my last post and that's The Closer
on TNT with Kyra Sedgwick.

Now, on to those movies that show up on TV as I'm surfing through the channels that I can't pass up and have to watch again. I'm sure you have some too. Here are some of mine:I'm sure I'll forget some. That'll be another post.

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance/The Searchers.....almost anything directed by John Ford
Cool Hand Luke/The Verdict.......Paul Newman
Sunset Boulevard
Double Indemnity/Ball of Fire/The Lady Eve......with the great Barbra Stanwyck
Clockwork Orange/Time After Time.....Malcolm MacDowell
Godfather i and II
The Wild Bunch
Star Wars 4,5 and 6
Anything from Pixar
Young Frankenstein
The Great Escape
The Magnificent 7
Clint Eastwood's Spaghetti Westerns plus Dirty Harry and The Unforgiven and The Beguiled
Goldfinger
That's all I can think of for now. I'm sure there are more. Not sure what I'll post tomorrow night, but it will be something.
Oh, BTW, wasn't 24 kinda awesome last night?

My Must See TV

Well, here are the shows I watch on a regular basis, with a comment or two about each one.

24:Kiefer Sutherland found the role of his life in Jack "Set up a perimeter" Bauer after a movie career of mainly quirky, creepy parts. 24 gets a little better each year. Some think it's slipped a bit this year, but I wouldn't count it out.

Prison Break:Yeah, it's a little far-fetched, but I like it.

Heroes:The (almost) perfect comic book TV show. Very good acting and they don't take all season to answer questions. Just fun all around.

Lost:My favorite. I know it rambles and seems to get off track at times, but I have faith in
TPTB that they know where they're going with this story. Great acting and characters.

Jericho:Nice premise, so-so writing and acting. If it gets cancelled, I won't lose any sleep.

Smallville:Yeah, I know. It's not perfect, but I've been a big Supes fan since I was five or six.

The "Chick Flicks":Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters and Desperate Housewives:I watch these with my wife. I like them for the acting and the characters.

House:Hugh Laurie, 'nuff said.

Sorry, I don't like reality shows. I'm not impressed by people who want their 15 minuts of fame and don't mind mind being publicly humiliated to get it.

The Daily Show and Colbert Report:Best way to get my news.

One small step

Wilkommen.....Bienvenud....Welcome to the maiden post of my 1st weblog. Thank you for reading. If you're wondering what makes this blog different than others, that would be a valid question. This will merely be my take on various subjects, centering mainly on pop culture and the things I like or feel very passionate about. My main targets will be TV, movies, some music, books, comics and any related peripherals such as other blogs and websites.

What you won't find here are negative vibes or a journal of my daily life.I don't like to be negative. There are plenty of people in this world and on the Web to be that way. My daily routine is just that...routine. I do blue collar workhere in the middle of America (Missouri) and it's none too exciting. Someday I might get around to writing about it, but don't hold your breath.

I will make a concerted effort to post something every day. If I can't, I probably shouldn't be doing this. I hope you'll stick with me and tell your friends to check out Alan's Alley. It shouldn't be dull.If I can be half as entertaining as the likes of Peter David or Mark Evanier, I'll consider this a success.

Thanks for reading and coming along for the ride. Feel free to comment. Every little bit helps.

Tomorrow:Must See TV (for me anyway).
